The former Brazilian president detained after being declared a flight risk

The former Brazilian leader has been detained after authorities concluded he posed a serious risk of fleeing while under home confinement.

The one-time leader was sentenced of plotting a military coup in the ninth month and sentenced more than over two decades in incarceration, but he continued under house arrest pending court reviews.

Top Judicial Official Justice Moraes said the decision to arrest the septuagenarian politician was a preventative measure after fresh information came to light.
